Sometimes, and not always. Cloud converts capital expense to operating expense and removes hardware refresh cycles, which suits many businesses. But a workload that runs constantly at high utilization is frequently cheaper on hardware you own. We model both before recommending either.
Not in the way most people assume, and this catches businesses out regularly. Microsoft guarantees service availability, not recovery of your data from a deletion or ransomware event outside a short retention window. Third-party backup for 365 is something we recommend to essentially every client running it.
For a small business moving email and files to Microsoft 365, typically two to six weeks depending on data volume and how much cleanup the source environment needs. Azure infrastructure projects run longer. The assessment gives you a real timeline rather than a guess.
Migrations get staged so the disruption lands on evenings and weekends, with mailboxes and files cut over in batches. Some brief interruption is realistic to expect, but a multi-day outage means something was planned badly.
Yes, and for many businesses it is the correct answer. Line-of-business applications, equipment that cannot be virtualized, and latency-sensitive workloads often belong on-premise while email and collaboration move to the cloud. Hybrid is a legitimate destination, not a halfway house.
