Network Infrastructure

Network Infrastructure and Structured Cabling

Everything else you run sits on top of the network. Slow applications, dropped calls and dead spots usually trace back to cabling installed without a standard or switching never designed for today’s load. We design it, oversee the install, test it and hand you the documentation.

What we do

From the Cable in the Wall to the Edge Firewall

One contract and one accountable party for both layers. We design it, supervise the install, configure the network and test the result.

Structured Cabling

Cat6 and Cat6A copper installed to TIA standards, dressed, labeled at both ends and terminated in an organized rack. Every run tested with a certification tester and the results handed to you.

Fiber Optic

Single-mode and multimode fiber for building-to-building runs, riser backbones and links that need to outlast the equipment on either end. Spliced or pre-terminated, tested and documented, including polarity method.

Switching and Routing

Managed switching designed for the traffic you actually run. VLANs, quality of service for voice and video, redundancy where downtime costs money, and configurations documented rather than improvised.

Wireless

Site surveys before installation instead of guesswork. Access points placed for real coverage, clean channel plans, and separate networks for staff, guests and devices that should never touch your servers.

Firewalls and Edge Security

Perimeter security with rules that reflect your actual traffic. Many small business firewalls run near-default configurations that allow far more than anyone intends.

Server and Rack Infrastructure

Racks, UPS, cooling and layout done so the next person can work in it. Clean cable management is what turns a failure into a ten-minute fix instead of an hour of tracing.

How a Cabling Project Runs

Surveyed, scoped and quoted before anyone runs a cable.

Site Survey

We walk the space, measure real runs, find pathways and obstructions, and confirm what the existing infrastructure can support.

Design and Quote

A written scope with drop counts, materials, pathways and a fixed price. No discovering halfway through that the number has moved.

Install, Test, Document

Installed to standard, every run tested, everything labeled, and as-built documentation handed over at close.

On Site Across Chicagoland

Cabling, fiber and hands-on network work across the north and northwest suburbs and the wider metro: Prospect Heights, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Wheeling, Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, Northbrook, Schaumburg and nearby. Network design and firewall policy work is also available remotely anywhere in the US.

FAQ

Infrastructure Questions We Get Asked

Yes, on purpose. When cabling and network configuration are split between two vendors, every problem becomes a debate about whose fault it is. One accountable party for both layers ends that.

It depends on distance, density and how long you will stay. Cat6A costs more per foot and takes more pathway space, but supports 10 gigabit at full distance. For a space you plan to occupy for a decade, it is usually the right call.

Yes, with a certification tester, and the results are part of the handover. A documented test turns an intermittent fault six months later into a clear fix instead of an argument.

Yes. Disruptive work and cutovers are scheduled by agreement, planned around your operations.

As soon as you have a floor plan, ideally six to eight weeks out. Cabling happens before furniture and often before the space is finished, and lead times on switching and circuits often set the move date.
